Complete discussion on temperature measurement. Determine that temperature is a quantitative measure and that it is a measure of the average kinetic energy of a substance. Define kinetic energy as it involves molecular movement. Increasing the molecular motion of particles by adding heat will cause an increase in the measure of temperature. Discuss the 3 scales in currents use, the Fahrenheit, Celsius, and Kelvin. Use the formula to convert Celsius into Kelvin units, no degrees used in Kelvin. Introduce derives units in chemistry.
