Chapter 2 Solving One-Step Equations and Inequalities
Lesson Outline
2-8 Inequalities and Their Graphs – We learned that an inequality is a mathematical sentence that contains less than, less than or equal to, greater than, or greater than or equal to. As with an equation, a solution to an inequality containing a variable is a number that when substituted for the variable makes the inequality true. However unlike a linear equation, a linear inequality may have more than one number as a solution.
We learned to graph solutions of inequalities. Then we learned to write inequalities to describe graphs.
Assignment: Complete problems assigned for homework.
