Today Patrick began began with playing a quick online game of basic subtraction to increase his fluency. He chose subtraction over addition!!! He did an excellent job thinking out loud which allowed me to determine his math strategy. Some of the problems he just knew and others he counted down or up. Then we went into adding double-digits with regrouping. He was pretty successful! He practiced with and without the use of base-10 blocks.
