Lesson Topic
Augustus Caesar
Lesson Outline
Today's lesson focused on Augustus Caesar, whom the Roman Senate granted absolute power for life. His dispensation of patronage to solidify loyalty among soldiers, and his use of gladiator competitions to entertain the public, were addressed, and the term "Pax Romana" was defined. When questioned, Hunter figured out that the life of Jesus coincided with part of Augustus' reign. I was pleased with Hunter's level of engagement today. He took good notes, too.
