Lesson Outline
I had Devon open her computer and view her camp photos. We will be using them in a photoshop project in the near future. We looked to see if they were all downloaded, using iphoto. The first lesson was to assign a keyword (we used the name of the camp) to each photo. She noticed that she only had to type the keyword once, and then the word was on a drop down menu for the other photos. She also discovered she could assign a keyword to all images that were taken on the same day, using a batch process. She also assigned each photo a location, on the map provided by iphoto. I had Devon create a 'smart album' by directing all photos with the same keyword into the album. We then turned to the task of tagging the photos with the names of her friends. She was amazed how many names she had forgotten, so I suggested this year she attend to this task right away, so she will always have a record of her friends names. We nearly finished this task when class time was over.
