Will and I took time at the beginning of the session to get to know each other. I asked him about his likes and dislikes regarding school, teachers, World History, as well as his travel experiences abroad. Each of these topics relate to our collaborative planning of the learning experiences for World History. We discussed the elements of World History of which he is most familiar, and what he has covered thus far. We then began to review the Renaissance, including its famous names, particularly artists, as well as the financial centers in Italy, trade routes through the East, and the impact of religion on the Renaissance.
