Pilgrims and religious freedom and colony vs. state: Marina and I discussed the Pilgrims reasons for leaving England for the New World. They wanted freedom of religion. This lead to the, Freedom of Religion Right, stated in the Declaration of Independence, once the United States became a sovereign country. We discussed the difference between the New England colony and the New England States.
