Yanuell participated in a paired read with another older student. They read books about presidents, including a biography of Barack Obama. Yanuell shared what he knows about presidents, and we discussed landmarks, history, and geography. Using a globe and a flat map, the students located where the current, and former presidents were from. Using currency, Yanuell named the presidents, and we talked about the other pictures on currency including those landmarks in Washington DC (Washington monument, Jefferson memorial, Lincoln memorial).
