Lesson Topic
Abigail Adams Reading and Letter Writing
Lesson Outline
Today, Robin and I read "Letter to my Daughter" by Abigail Adams, where Adams (wife of second U.S. President, John Adams) describes the brand new White House. Robin and I compared Adams's White House to Obama's White House. We also reviewed personal letters and public letters. Robin concluded the session by writing a personal letter to her favorite television show's director/writer, and sending the letter in a self-addressed stamped envelope, following basic letter writing format.

Lesson Comments
She had never written a letter, or filled out an envelope before! This was shocking to me. At least she was able to experience it today.
