The vowel sounds for closed and vowel-consonant-e syllables were recited. The instructor had Hunter review the guidelines for identifying closed and vowel-consonant-e syllables. He practiced reading one syllable real and nonsense words from step 4.1. He read 15/15 real words, 13/15 mixed (closed and vowel-consonant-e) words. For the written part of the lesson, Hunter spelled 10/10 real words and 5/5 nonsense words correctly. The dictated sentences were written successfully.
