Lesson Outline
The session began with a discussion of the open syllable exception sounds. The sounds for the vowels a and i in an open syllable were presented. Hunter read several of these words using syllable cards. Word cards from step 5 were presented next. Hunter fluently read these words. He charted 15/15 real words. Prior to the written part of the lesson, Hunter was asked to spell words using syllable cards. For the written part of the lesson Hunter spelled 10/10 real words and 5/5 nonsense words correctly. He was also given three additional review words and spelled them correctly.
