Samantha began the lesson with a review of closed syllables. She read some teacher created words on the magnetic board. Samantha was then given a set of word cards and asked to find a common thread with these cards -- such as the vowel in each word or the beginning or ending blend, etc-- she was to determine what the words had in common and then divide them. She said she was tired and couldn't think so we played a game of go fish with nonsense words from this step. This gave Samantha the opportunity to practice reading unknown words.

Hi Judie. So here we go again. Micromanaging is not going to work. Wilson Language is a structured program with specific guidelines. I do not use only one set of lesson plans but try to base instruction on each individual student. If Mom is wanting something different then I am not your person for this student. As I said in my other note to you - Math - so very often Samantha does not want to follow procedures. I am at my wits end with her and fed up with the excuses. Someone needs to take ownership of this problem. Thank you for your ear. Tell Mom I quit.
