Lesson Outline
Together, Analise and I read Miles and Miles of Reptiles by Tish Rabe. We discussed how reptiles lay eggs so they are not mammals, what they eat, and that their skin is covered in scales. Analise learned that a cold blooded animal can not control their body temperature and when lizards lie in the sun they are basking. We also went over the ways to tell the difference between an alligator and a crocodile by their mouths. Sea Turtles were touched upon along with iguanas, snakes, and different types of lizards. Once again, Analise wanted to know which ones bit and how hard. We discussed how most animals only bite when frightened and are harmless when left alone.
