Lesson Outline
We started off with current world news from the British Broadcasting Service. The headlines were all about President Putin and his alleged involvement with a scandal in Panama. Also country music legend Merle Hagart had died. (Jackson has not heard of him).We then looked at the New York Times. Surprisingly there was not much on the presidential campaign except that Cruz won in Wisconsin.
There is an extensive article on subtle changes in baseball (ie... number of bases stolen and numbers of relief pitchers being used). We spent the remainder of the session reviewing these changes as stated in the Sunday New York Times. Very interesting reader (even for this adult who doesn't understand all things baseball, but loves it anyway!!)
