Lesson Outline
Today's lesson continued on the concept of making a 10 to add. We discussed how drawing to show 10 helps solve addition problems. Gracyn completed problems using a ten frame and cubes. She took the greater addend and placed that amount into a 10 frame. Then, she borrowed from the other addend to fill the frame to make a ten. For example, the problem 7 + 8. The 10 frame would be filled with 8 and 2 more from the 7 with 5 left over. Therefore, 10 + 5 is the same as 7 + 8. Gracyn also completed a part-part whole worksheet and we finished by tossing the doubles fact ball to each other.
