Lesson Topic
Five senses, science skills
Lesson Outline
Loulie began with a review of her five senses and why they are important in science. She did an activity where she was given a picture of a kitten and had to paste each sense (eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and paws) in the correct place and describe how the kitten used each sense. We also began discussing science skills such as observing, sorting, measuring, and comparing. She did a sorting activity with different sizes, colors, and spots on ladybugs and had to sort the ladybugs each different way. After she sorted, she pasted her sorts on mats. We discussed how we could find similarities in many different ways.
