This was our first Skype session with Jackson in NYC. Not surprisingly, we had some technical issues with two dropped calls, necessitating hanging up and rebooting. We worked through the beginning of the John Sandford novel, "Heat Lightning," and explored the author's use of a "hook" to hook the reader into wanting to read more.
