Ben and I continued to learn more about World War II today. We read about the invasion at Normandy and watched a short video on History.com. We reviewed vocabulary. We discussed wartime propaganda, the history of Uncle Sam, and Rosie the Riveter. Ben read about Rosie and learned about the importance of her image to that time. We learned about landing craft/ amphibious vehicles and discussed the Tuskegee Airmen and the atomic bomb. We watched a BrainPop movie about the Tuskegee Airmen. Ben was very interested in that. Ben wanted to share a video with me that I found very very interesting and which I will share with my other students. It was "Our Narrow Slice" on VSauce.
