We watched several videos to learn about the history of the sport, since 1887 in Chicago, it turned into an outdoor sport from an indoor sport meant to serve as training for firefighters when off duty. We learned about the popularity of the sport during the War when women took over for men serving in the War due to the draft. We also read about the popularity of the sport during the Great Depression. It was called kitten ball or mush ball.
