Chapter four test
Lesson Outline
This morning Bobby took the chapter four test. We had spent at least a full week preparing for this assessment. It was obvious from the beginning of the assessment that Bobby was experiencing a great deal of anxiety despite the fact that the assessment featured questions taken directly from the homework. In fact, the questions were copied verbatim. We will review the results of this assessment during class on Wednesday.

Lesson Comments
As noted above, Bobby was anxious about taking this assessment and admitted that he had forgotten how to complete many of the problems featured in the first portion of the test. He had difficulty staying focused and talked throughout the assessment often stating that he did not know the material and needed help on how to begin. Thankfully, he seemed to regain some confidence when he began solving the problems on scientific notation. However, some of the simpler problems such as reducing fractions and identifying common factors were difficult for Bobby. This is a concern given the fact that we have spent considerable time on solving this type of problem and Bobby seemed to have a good understanding of the subject matter.
