Charlie and I read today about the manorial system in the middle ages. We looked to several diagrams and learned about self-sufficiency. Charlie understood the relationship between peasant and landlord. We read about economics and revival, discussing trade, gothic architecture, the development of towns, guilds, education and the arts. We learned of the importance of the church in government and society.... greed was considered a sin and people were born into their class and could not move up in society. We continued to watch more of "Mr. Peabody and Sherman" during the second half of our class. It addressed George Washington and the American Revolution.
