Charlie and I reviewed vocabulary words on the word wall. We discussed why the ancient Greeks created myths. We also discussed their version of the creation of the world, from chaos. We reviewed different heroes. Charlie created his own, with special powers and symbols. He finished an excellent illustration of Perdere for his Book of Myths. He even referenced the Latin translation of the word "destroy" to name him, which I thought was very smart! We discussed the weekend HOMEWORK assignment. He will turn in the Newsela article on Friday. Finally, we followed a lesson from the Mensa Educational Network to learn more about Greek Mythology characters, their story, their family tree, and how modern brand names have used these words to evoke the same attributes or characteristics.
