Today we took a break from functions. I gave Hunter a short practice Pert test. The PERT test is designed to show a student's readiness for Junior College. It covers a variety of math skills. Hunter got 7 out of 10 questions correct.
I then had him continue a "Math Review for Plumbing Apprentices" packet that I found online. It contains basic math concepts that a person intending to apprentice as a plumber would need to know. Although he is talking about getting a construction job with his Uncle, he has also mentioned plumbing, so I thought this would be a helpful activity for him to do.

Hunter was pretty tired and unmotivated today. He said that Mondays and Fridays are the hardest days for him. I opted to give him the easier math work, because I could tell that he just didn't have the capacity to move forward with the material on functions today. We will return to it next week.
