We discussed the elements of the traditional Gothic novel, and I supplemented my notes with a short video from the British Library online that demonstrated Gothic imagery and architecture accompanying a scholar's discussion of the features of Gothic novels. Taylor took notes on the video and we discussed how some of these elements are at play in "Rebecca," and Taylor made predictions for their potential to develop in the chapters ahead. She then read Chapter 7 and answered some discussion questions.
