I explained the difference between scalar and vector quantities to Vlad and I guided him through some examples and problems in finding resultant vectors and resolving vectors into their components. We used the Pythagorean Theorem to find the magnitude of resultant vectors and the inverse tangent to find their directions. We also showed how vectors can be resolved into component vectors. I assigned some problems from the end of the chapter to reinforce these skills.
