We reviewed the homework, corrections were given and the appropriate solutions demonstrated. We finished Chapter 14.3, briefly reviewed the material from Chapters 15 and 16 that was already covered in the Chemistry text, and then ended with 16.3. A thorough explanation of valence electrons, and the relation to chemical properties of different groups and families of various elements arranged in the periodic table was given. How to find the valence electrons and use electron dot diagrams to find out which elements can bond together was also demonstrated.
