Lesson Topic
Theorems about roots of polynomial equations
Lesson Outline
The plan was to introduce Samantha to various theorems and strategies for solving polynomial equations. I was going to introduce the Rational Root Theorem, The Irrational Root Theorem, and the Imaginary Root Theorem. After showing Sam several examples of how the Rational Root Theorem can be used to find at least one root, I was going to introduce the concepts of irrational conjugates and imaginary conjugates. This would allow her to solve a large range of polynomials. Samantha was not in school today so I will present this lesson the next time I teach her. There was no assignment.
