Lesson Comments
Sam had a bottle of Snapple on her desk which became a good starting point. She read the ingredients on the label and we discussed the states of matter in which those ingredients existed.
Using the physical appearance of the snapple, a definition of a homogenous solution was arrived, along with the terms solute and solvent. The different forms of solutes was discussed, along with the use of specific solvents for a specific purpose, like dissolving urea in oils for use on dry skin.
