Types of solutions
Lesson Outline
To describe and explain the major types of solutions based on the solvent used. The most common solution utilizes water as the solvent. These are classed as aqueous solution. I will discuss the common solvents which are soluble in water. Alcoholic solutions will be discussed next, with the common solutes used and the reason for this solvent's use. We discussed the classification of alcoholic solutions into elixirs, tinctures and alcoholic solutions based on the concentration of alcohol in the solution.
Examples of gaseous solutions and solid solutions will be discussed. Examples of each type of solution will be listed and briefly discussed. A solution of oxygen or carbon dioxide in water to produce seltzer, or a solution of alcohol in water to explain and describe the term miscible... We will discuss the most common solution which will be solids dissolved in liquids and the choice of solvent for common solutes. The final type of solution will be solid solutions, with the solvent being a solid, like mercury in gold to form an amalgam, or water dissolved in sugar to form a moist solid, or carbon dissolved in iron to form steel.

Lesson Comments
In an attempt to finally arrive at a course which will be best suited for Sam, I discussed the possibility of a course which will concentrate on drugs and chemicals affected the nervous system. this will involve an in depth study of the nervous system, nerves, receptors, and responses, as well as contraindications. I need a final decision from Sam
