I had Sam work on rotation exercises on Khan Academy. A clockwise rotation is measured in negative degrees, and a counterclockwise rotation is measured in positive degrees. She had to look at a rotations of shapes and determine the degree of rotation. In order to do this, I taught her to make an angle from the center of rotation to a point on the pre-image, as well as the corresponding image point. Then measure that angle. It's measure will be the degree of rotation. She is starting to understand this better, but we took a few steps back to look at measuring angles. Tomorrow I will practice angle measurements with her more, and then we will move forward with more rotations.
