We reviewed the reading Sam completed for homework on the concepts and definitions of express and reserved powers as well as concurrent powers. She indicated that her review reading solidified her understanding. We then reviewed Art II and Art III to identify specific powers the Constitution confers on the president and on the judiciary. Next, we located in her notes the summaries of two important Supreme Court cases, and highlighted their facts and holdings. Last, we began our review of the Civil Rights Movement going back initially to the US Constitution's failure to abolish slavery and tracing court cases through the enactment of the 13th , 14th ,and 15th Amendments. We will continue this area of the review tomorrow focusing on desegregation. The final exam will be scheduled for next week.
