The plan was to introduce the topic of addition and subtraction of rational functions. The lesson would start with the rules of addition and subtraction of fractions with the requirement for all terms to have the same denominator. I would then extend that rule and the steps required to obtain same denominators to algebraic rational functions and the need to factor the numerators and denominators of all terms. Since Samantha was not present today, I will have to present this lesson next time I see her. There was no assignment.
