Lexi had a fun and productive session. She worked on a color by number design creating a colorful fruit bowl and was able to identify all the fruit except a pear. When I told her it was a pear, she exclaimed "Oh, I LOVE pears!" I then read her a Dr. Seuss book "Happy Birthday" book, and she engaged in following along as i underscored each word with my finger. Lexi enjoyed feeling the different textures and using her words/adjectives to explain how they felt. She was delighted with a peek-a-boo game we played with the interactive pieces.

I subbed this afternoon from 12:36-1:21 (blank period on her schedule).
We cut out a picture of a restaurant and drew a picture of a young girl "Amelia" who we ask where she was going. She would then respond telling us where she was going.
She visited the restaurant but also went to see the tiger in the poster, the unicorns, and other places around the room.

Alexandra completed her interactive calendar. She finished her calendar talk activity. She read her sight words. She practiced reading her number words and her color words. She wrote her ABC's. She worked on her phonics activities. She put together her giant dinosaur puzzle. She had story time.
Alexandra created a shape book this morning. We discussed the attributes of the square, rectangle, circle, oval, triangle, heart, and star. Then, she traced each one from a dinosaur shape reference and glued on a cutout of the shape and shape name. Finally, we stapled all the pages together, looked through the book, and put it in her backpack to take home.

In our art session, Alexandra used different colors of modeling clay to create animals of her choice. She had fun making families of animals from the ocean such as sea horses, squid, and sea snakes.
