How Ben’s rights and privileges change upon adulthood
Lesson Outline
Ben and I discussed the new privilege of voting once he becomes an adult. We discussed how he would be able to exercise various rights and privileges including voting and petitioning the government. We also discussed how he would become a licensed driver under Florida law.
With Ben I discussed what the UN and NATO are and what intergovernmental organizations are. We discussed how the UN charter was created and why and what the League of Nations was that preceded it.
Ben and I reviewed his homework assignment and how he would manage a newspaper company. We also discussed how media differs in coverage of politics and what that means for viewers, readers or listeners.
Ben and I finalized our course in Government reviewing our progress and work. We reviewed our sections from basis of our government to how it operates in practice.
Ben and I discussed changing social and economic policy from FDRs New Deal. We discussed government impact on citizens prior to that change in policy and how it works today.
Ben and I discussed social policy and what it means. How does it affect people and who implements and why? We used policy from hundreds of years ago as an example.
