Lesson Comments
This was the first class Bobby and I have had together all week. We were both so glad to see each other and to resume history studies. Bobby expressed frustration with his schedule because he actually feels that he doesn't have a set schedule. He feels confused daily by his constantly changing schedule. He expressed that he has double periods in many of his classes. He says he can tolerate 120 minutes in some classes, but not others.

Growing tensions between the colonists and England after the French & Indian War
Lesson Outline
Effects of the French and Indian War on North America:
1. England's territorial claims in the new world almost doubled in size.
2.The French ceded their N. American landholdings to Britain. This included Canada and French territory east of the Mississippi. New Orleans and French lands west of the Mississippi were ceded to Spain.
3. The War greatly enlarged Britain's debt.
4. Growing tensions between the British and colonists after years of contact fighting together against the French and Iroquois Confederacy.
5. The British decided that a major reorganization and new approach to running their N. American colony had to be implemented ASAP.
6. Colonists felt they were now part of their own "People's Army" and they resented the conduct of the British throughout the French and Indian War.
7. The Iroquois alliance with Britain unraveled and the Iroquois Confederacy crumbled.
8. Britain began to tax the colonies to help them make up for their war debt.

Lesson Comments
Vlad went to Orlando with his sister to meet friends for "Fright Night" at Universal Studio. He said he is exhausted today. He didn't sleep all weekend and he couldn't sleep even last night. Therefore, it was hard for Vlad to focus on A.P. US History content today. He preferred to spend the majority of the period focusing on current events - to see what he missed over the weekend and to learn more about candidates Gillum and DeSantis. Even when Vlad is tired, he doesn't slack off. He is always open to learning something.

Chap 3 Test Score Feedback and beginning Chap. 4
Lesson Outline
We reviewed the Chap. 3 Test answers and discussed how to strengthen AP multiple choice test-taking skills. It is a work in progress! Vlad is very agreeable to sharpening and improving his future note-taking skills. We then began to discuss the beginning of Chap. 4: "The Empire in Transition," starting with British and American colonial relations between 1688 - mid 1700s. A weakness of imperial administrative authority and a policy of neglect weakened England's hold on the American colonies - that is until England seeks revenue to pay debt incurred from the French & Indian War. England's transition from a "laissez faire" policy to one of imposing taxation on the colonies will obviously, cause friction.
