Joshua did not complete the written portion of the test during class today. Because of the standardized testing happening in school next week, it's imperative that Joshua remains on point in the curriculum. Therefore, he may complete the written portion of the test over the long weekend - as long as it doesn't interfere with his family's holiday celebration. Joshua assures me it will not.
Today we reviewed the causes and some of the effects of the end of the Cold War. We also practiced the AP skill of how to explain a historical development by practicing how to explain a historical event/change. We then evaluated the causes leading to the end of the Cold War and how to explain a variety of historical developments. Finally, we examined the extent to which the effects of the Cold War were similar in the Eastern and Western Hemispheres. We then practiced how to develop complex argument.

Joshua continued to work on the Chapter 12 Test essay question he wasn't able to complete prior to school ending before the break.

Joshua was very tired in class today. He didn't sleep well last night. Just want to check in and see where we are re: Joshua and extended time for the AP exam. Have we gotten confirmation of this from the College Board? It will be great for Joshua going into this exam to know he has it. Thank you.
Joshua completed the first part of his Chap. 12 Test, "Milestones of the Last Century:1900 - 1950." We had some time at the end of class to review for the next testing sections on Wed. & Thurs.
