S: Noah was seen at the Batt School for treatment. Noah was eager to work with SLP throughout treatment. Initial portion of session was dedicated to Noah talking with SLP about his holiday break. O: Noah was asked to follow a variety of 1-2 step related directions. He completed the activity with 75% accuracy. Noah was then asked to sequence visuals related to a story read to him. He completed the activity with 83% accuracy. After, Noah answered mixed “wh” questions about a story read aloud to him given a field of 3 visual answer choices. He completed the activity with 70% accuracy. Lastly, Noah was asked to follow directions with embedded spatial concepts. He completed the activity with 67% accuracy. A: Increases as well as minor decreases displayed across POC goals. Decreases likely due to lapse in time between sessions due to holiday break. P: Continue with current POC. Monitor goals displaying decreases.
Christopher wrote his spelling words in his dictionary. We read about Temple Grandin and discussed the book. He wrote some information about current events.
Kaitlin wrote her spelling words in her dictionary. In her journal, she wrote a five-sentence paragraph about one of the characters. We read The Witch of Blackbird Pond.
During class today, PJ and I discussed the introduciton of algebraic expressions. We discussed what a variable is and what a constant is. I showed PJ how in higher mathematics, instead of writing 3xt for "three times t" we just write 3t instead. We worked on translating math words into expressions. We learned sum=add, product=multiply, quotient=divide, difference=subtract. PJ practiced reading sentences and then rewriting them as algebraic expressions. He did great with this lesson!
During class we used notes from Flipped math to finish up Unit 2A. We covered Inverse functions, their domain and range, and proper notation. Then we looked over the topics we have discussed so far and considered what is still left to cover. We set up our review for Unit 2A and will be using the next few classes as a review.
