We used writing paper, Play Doh, and a chalkboard to practice new sight words (went, was, one) and short vowels. I read a Tomie de Paola book and talked about his illustrations.
We played basketball and did Cone drills primarily focused on ball handling through traffic and the ability to turn quickly on a dime and shoot a shot.
Ben and I concluded his final class with a review of the materials in a fun movie, to watch the covered material on the government. We watched All the President's Men. We also briefly discussed what the Watergate scandal was about.
Lucas and I played basketball. We worked hard on ball handling including jump shots and three-point jump shots. Lucas shared that he wanted to get more confident in his shot and in making threes on a regular basis. As a result, we worked on mid range jumpers and feeling comfortable pulling up off the dribble.
Ben and I completed his homework assignment and conducted a brief final exam and concluded our course in government. He also got the chance to review the summaries of all of our course material.
I did not expect Chris since we were told he would be gone Thursday and Friday. He arrived late and told me he may not be back after Christmas, so he wanted to come today.
