Aiden completed the 3-Dimensional Thinking where he created a data table for the age and distance of points on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, he plotted the points on a graph, and he answered the follow-up question. He calculated the rate of seafloor spreading using R=D/T. He completed the 3-Dimensional Thinking where he analyzed a map of the location of tectonic plate boundaries and correlated them with the isochron map of the seafloor ages and the topographical map of the seafloor topography. He wrote an explanation for the correlation of the three maps. He wrote an explanation for how seafloor topography is evidence for plate tectonics.

We reviewed the rules for adding ing to CVC words (double the consonant and add ing), CVVC words (just add ing), and CVCe words (drop the e and add ing). Luna used Twistables to write sight words iron, study, bury, and odd. She added these words into her card file. Luna read The Author Visit from the Black Lagoon and discussed it. Luna wrote about why she wants to have a dog. We discussed sentence format. She did the hula hoop and sidewalk chalk to practice sight words.

Max studied about the critics of Catholic Church in the 1530's, growth of Martin Luther's ideas as they spread throughout European countries, and the popular attitudes toward Reform of Catholicism and Papal teachings. (Royal and popular support for Protestant Reformation)

Aiden completed a breathing exercise to disengage the fight-or-flight response and engage the rest-and-digest response to feel calm: breathe in for 8 seconds, hold for 8 seconds, exhale 8 percussive sniffs. Repeat 20 times. He completed a solar plexus meditation repeating the mantra "I burn away my cravings. I burn away desires. I burn away my mental fixations" for 5 minutes. He completed the Investigation "Seafloor Spreading" and viewed the video "Seafloor Spreading". He wrote a summary of what causes earth's crust to spread. He read about the seafloor conveyor belt, magma and lava. He wrote about the relationship between seafloor spreading, mid-ocean ridges and ocean trenches. He completed the conversion from km to cm using conversion factors.

We read The Napping House and worked on rules for adding ing to words. She sorted words into the correct rule, double the consonant on a short vowel word, drop the e on a word ending with a silent e, and just adding ing. With magnetic letters, Luna practiced new sight words, move, listen, put, and bush. She read another Black Lagoon book and discussed it. She wrote about going to 2nd grade. We reviewed spelling and sentences in her earlier writing. Luna did an activity identifying vowels. She did hula hoop and sidewalk chalk to practice the sight words.
