There are a number of preparations that will be needed during our assembly of the Makeblock robot. I have ordered Arduino for Dummies in order to help us learn much more about Arduino control boards and the firmware for the robot may have to be updated before we begin final programming.
Today we are scheduled to continue our review of adding and subtracting fractions. Bobby experienced some difficulty initially so we will be focusing more on this area upon his return.

Bobby and I will go over what kind of role he would like to have in his company. I will go over what the difference is in being a CEO vs. a manager. I will ask Bobby a series of questions to help him create his bio/about page for his website.
We will watch a video on Ryan Friedlinghaus, Ceo/owner of West Coast Customs. I will ask Bobby some more questions to see what he learned from the video and how it relates to the project that we are working on.
Bobby will be introduced to Wordpress, an online website development program. I will show Bobby the front end of the site that he is going to create and then I will show him the dashboard, and the back end of the website. I will go over all of the elements of the dashboard and their significance. I will walk Bobby through uploading his logo and the different file types that we use in creating a website, ie. Jpeg or PNG. Lastly, Bobby will be given a chance to customize his website's header and menu bar.
Bobby and I will go over the reason for creating a website. We will review the Bobby's bio information that he created from a previous class. We will make any and all additions/changes before we upload it to Bobby's website.
Bobby and I will complete our series of videos called Blueprint, a biography series about creative entrepreneurs. Bobby has a focus to run his own business one day and this ties in very well with what we are doing in the class.
Bobby and I will complete the class and go over his winter assignment. Bobby will be emailed instructions on how to create a webpage for his website. Bobby will choose one of the services that his web company offers, create a layout and generate content for the page. I will review with Bobby the software that he will use to complete the project.

This afternoon Bobby spent the first half of class discussing study strategies in preparation for the upcoming chapter test. We will be moving forward in the text starting next week.
This morning Bobby continued our discussions on what would be an appropriate and yet interesting experiential activity to start upon our return after the holidays. As mentioned earlier, we have decided on the Makeblock robotic components since it is a terrific introduction into a STEAM based curriculum where Bobby and I will be able to focus on design, assembly and programming using the Arduino Control boards for starters. I have already ordered the robotics kit and advised Bobby's Dad of our upcoming project.
This morning we took advantage of the latest developments by the FCC and their landmark repeal of new neutrality. Bobby was asked to research the topic, take notes and answer several questions based on his research and using only his notes.
