Political parties
Lesson Outline
We began our next unit on political parties by defining what constitutes a political party and by tracing how our two party system evolved. We then addressed the function and role of third parties such as the The Green Party and the Libertarian Party. I noted how third parties can alter presidential elections as they did n in 1990 for George Bush due to Ross Perot's candidacy and as they did in 2000 for Al Gore due to Ralph Nader's candidacy. Last, we sutured how some third parties fade when the party's leader retires. However, certain ideological parties, such s the Green Patrty, tend to survive .

The Book Thief
Lesson Outline
We extrapolated Max's character from Death's observation that Max intends Death to feel Max's fist on his face when Death comes . Aiden discussed Max's fighting spirit and determination in the face of daunting odds as well as how this trait will help Max survive. Additionally, we explored why Death responds to Max by describing Max's attitude as "stupid gallantry ." For Death ,the fate of all humans is inevitable and therefore he finds human resistance ,not admirable ,but entertaining. We further completed comprehension questions on the reading.

Colson was very engaged in today's session on identity theft because these fraudulent schemes are very prevalent for young people online today. False websites. fake/entrapment emails etc. require young adults to be very savvy and "on guard" for identity hijacking etc.
