This was the second hour of our two one-hour sessions on Thursday. I have to say that they second hour has never gone well with her. Today was an extremely bad case. After waiting for her for some time, I went looking and found her chatting in the conference room with three other girls, with the lights out. She said she wanted to skip this session, so I said "That's up to you, but I'll be waiting in the room when you're ready." Sofie came right away,, but something was definitely off. She was completely off the wall. I've never seen her behavior like this. I thought she was on drugs and asked if the other girls had given her something because I was concerned about what kind of reaction she mightbe having. She claimed that she had only been drinking coffee, had had a lot, and that this is how coffee affected her. I must have a huge sign on my forehead that reads Sucker or she has the most sensitive systemic reactions to coffee in medical history. We did not get anything done during this session.

We lost some time due to the assembly today. Sophie struggled with last nights homework so we reviewed exponential growth and decay today. We will review on Monday. She will take the test on Tuesday.

Sophie was engaged in the material and did well. She created the title and initiated the voice recordings on her laptop. It was good to see her taking some charge in her work.

Sophie is enjoying the book.

Sophie did a good job today. She complained about how long the essay on the test would be but I explained how easy it would be for her. She used her time wisely and studied for her test when we were done with the review.

Sophie said the movie helped her grasp the book a little better and helped her understand which characters are white and which ones are Black.
