Review of topics for Quiz tomorrow. Aiden understood most of the Linear Equations homework assignment given last night and reviewed today. He has a good grasp on the major concepts and general method of solution but is struggling a little bit with computational details (previously covered) that somewhat prevent him from getting correct solutions. I am working closely with him to sharpen his skills with this and do not expect and long-term issues.

GCF and LCM of Algebraic Terms : Various example problems and real-life connections and descriptions .Use of Prime Factor trees and GCF numerical method to solve GCF problems with mixed/multi-variables. Review of Standard Form Linear Equations to convert to Slope-Intercept. Method of determining X-intercepts and Y-intercepts with linear equations. Aiden followed very clearly the GCFand LCM methods using Algebraic terms/variables which built upon his prior knowledge of finding GCF's using prime factors.

Greatest Common Factor with Algebraic Terms. Single variable GCF examples and mixed/multi-variable GCF problems.

Standard Form of Linear Equations. Ax +BY = C . Method of converting equations in Standard Form to Slope- Intercept form Y = mX + b. Review of assignment for modeling and solving multi-step linear equations. Aiden benefited by this review of equations in Slope Intercept form and converting from Standard form as he understands why the Slope intercept form equations are more useful for graphing lines.

Multi-Step Equations and linear equations. Modeling linear equations from various real world word statements. Solving distributive multi-step equations with PEMDAS and monetary/financial problems. Solving missing angles and sides of triangles and polygons using algebra linear equations with defined variables. Linear equations with fractions and to solve missing variables in an actual regular polygon such as a pools, buildings etc.

Multi-Step Linear Equations: Equations with Variables on Both Sides and Distributive Property Equations.

Linear Equations, Review of Algebra 1 Textbook and Chapter Topics. Various equations were practiced using the new textbook involving word problems, circle graphs, and 2-step equations.
Aiden was very attentive during today's session on Linear Equations. He is applying the skills that we developed in Pre-Algebra last year and are now working problems that are modeling real world situations with Algebraic equations.

Linear Equations: Various forms of linear equations and methods of solution. Using Varsity Tutors and CrackSAT online sites, practice problems/exercises involving linear equations with fraction coefficients and square roots. Square Both Sides method of solving square root equations. Aiden presented a list of algebra topics of interest and was excited that we worked numerous examples related to this skill.
