Next we completed a review of problems requiring us to find the GCF, use the FOIL method, and solve word problems.

Chapter 8 Exponents and Scientific Notation
Lesson Outline
8.7 Operations in Scientific Notation – We practiced using single digit numbers times a power of 10 to express very large and very small quantities in scientific notation. Then we performed operations with scientific notation. We completed a review assignment to prepare for a test tomorrow. We completed a few word problems where we looked for key words to tell us what operation to perform. After the review I made up several problems to practice putting numbers in scientific notation.
