Today we discussed cheesesteaks and we did a taste test between Rinaldi's and Jersey Mike's. Rinaldi's was the winner. We also studied the many food items invented by Italian Americans.
We tasted both hoagies: plain ham & cheese and traditional Italian. the ham/cheese sub was on a more basic type, softer of bread and the Italian was on a harder seeded roll. Bella thought she did not like the traditional but then she voted it as tastier. We discussed grinders & cheesesteaks; also - Cubans and more of the most popular sandwiches in the world.
We studied hoagies and subs and the differences related to the bread. We studied the history of each which were both invented by Italian Americans. We bought 2 different types of hoagies.
Analysis of Concetta Fatata's Alien Registration documents. She is Bella's great grandma and daughter of Giuseppe - she was 65 years old at the time of the documents. Her documents show that the family name was changed when entering the usa.
We now have Concetta Fatata's alien registration form from NY that appears to prove that the family name was changed upon arrival to the usa. We further discussed the Italian food items at Doris'. Bella and Dad looked at the food/wine event in Boca and would like to pick a date.
