Jack is learning how to defend each of his pieces. We started out mirroring each other, until I told him to take the offensive side and try to win the game.
Hank and I played a round of chess. I showed him my startup strategy as well as how I read his plays. We ended learning about Chess variants where different rules and pieces are added.
Today we played Chess. We talked about how to win using two rooks. We learned about chess variants. Mercer was intrigued with some of the new pieces and rules added to different game variants.
Today for board game day we played Apples to Apples with other students and teachers. Sebastian really enjoyed the game and had fun learning some pop culture at the same time.
Today we learned how to double up bishop attacks. When using them together they can cover a huge portion of the board and make it difficult to win when used effectively.
Today Andrew and I learned about new strange sports that are in the X-games and small sectors of the Olympics. I brought in a kendama which is becoming popular in several areas of the Americas, Europe and Asia.
