Today Judie, Kim and myself met via a zoom call to discuss Santino's progress as well as goals for him to work on this summer going forward. We reviewed his remarkable reading skills - as well as goals for continued phonological awareness and reading comprehension skills. I discussed Santino's skill set with math which includes counting out manipulatives to match a numeral, labeling numerals 1-100, rote counting, and the current goals of addition using manipulatives. I shared with Kim the template that I use to target this goal. We discussed Santino's current performance with eating and my process for increasing food consumed while at school which involved meeting Santino where he is comfortable, reinforcing, and increasing expectations from there as he is ready. For example, just picking up the spoon, then kissing it, then tasting it, then taking a bite. Finally, we discussed future goal of toilet training. We discussed pre-req skills such as practice sitting on the toilet for a period of time and pulling up and down his pants. Also discussed that we would need something of high value to Santino to reinforce toileting on the toilet that can be reserved for only this behavior in order to increase the value of the item.
I had the opportunity to meet with Lena and her mother for the first time today. Cari explained that she is very happy with Lena's progress academically since transferring to the Batt School! She also explained her role in "translating" much of the lesson for Lena and having to be present for her school day in order for Lena to be successful. It is a goal for Lena to continue to progress academically as she is, but also increase independence while doing so. Goals will include possibly Lena working on socials skills with myself with mom out of the room for some or the entirety of the session to allow for Lena to get comfortable again without her mom next to her and for me to observe a class and come up with potential supports that may likely include a within class schedule and a way for Lena to appropriately ask for a break and a way for her to successfully transition back into class.
Xavier's team (Judie, John, and Lisa) met with Mr. and Mrs. Walker via Zoom to discuss his academic tutoring plan for the school year. After the meeting, I wrote up a progress report with recommendations for Palm Beach Day School accommodations.
We brain-stormed the educational plans for the year for both Wyatt and Rhett.

I have been mulling this over all day. I think that they should be placed in 2nd grade for everything except for the language arts block (45 minutes OG and 45 minutes language) and do that at Batt. I am not interested in teaching the LA portion. 30 minutes each

Jayne is a pleasure to teach. She is cooperative and polite during our social studies time together.
I made time after school to speak with Olivia's parents about her Intro to Economics class. It was a great conversation that I can use to create her final project!
