Great but no one got their gold stars today. Anna and Gwen were close. Quinn was sad and realized that he had to pay more attention. Oliver needs to settle down to fit into the group
Very tired during our first session, was only able to get him to do one SRA workbook page. Second session was much better. Reviewed nouns, introduced adjectives. Identifying adjectives in phrases - 88%. Identifying phrases in sentences - 95%. Identifying adjectives in a short story - 100%. Writing: added adjectives to sentences to help the reader have a clearer picture. Read next chapter in 'Bad Kitty for President'.
Calendar - Anna,Quinn, Stephen,Oliver - days of the week train. Gwendolyn: reading and writing days of the week. Oliver/Stephen - initial sounds of C and O. Quinn/Anna/Gwendolyn - medial sound of a and o. Gwendolyn - SRA Level A worksheet matching phrases to picture. Quinn/Anna -new nonsense word list incorporating double letter sounds. Reviewed five senses - used 'touch' to observe and identify objects in bags. Anna brought in 100 magnetic words - we divided them into groups of 5,10,25, and 50. Anna, Quinn and Gwen created a group of the ones they could read (22). Anna/Gwen put them on the fridge and we created phrases and sentences. Danced with Scarves. Read them 'Woofer's Bike'. Oliver/Gwen/Stephen left early. Anna/Quinn played on iPads, put together dinosaur floor puzzle, cleaned out fish tank, took a walk, and practiced printing their names.
