Quinn still has trouble focusing on initial sounds and counting objects- but when he does focus for brief moments, he is 100% accurate.
Anna has mastered counting objects in groups of 1-10. She understands the concept of initial sounds and can usually isolate the initial sound when given a word.

Math: reviewed '6' and printed it all over the board. Looked at '9' and identified difference. Chose six or nine in a group of numbers. Practiced writing 6 and 9 as dictated. Counted six objects and 9 objects.
Social Studies: What is earth, the world. Name of our school - what does it mean to be a leader, what makes a good world leader- taking care of planet, being kind to everyone. What if happens if one person is mean to another, how can we be good leaders.
Story time: 'My Teacher is a Tyrannosaurus" Discussed why the dogs and kids and teacher were mean - what the boy did to change that.

Language Arts: Observed alphabet letters: two of each, uppercase does not always look like lowercase. Explained: letters are for reading. Letters have a secret code-they each have sounds. If we learn their sounds, then we can read. Introduced the sound of 'c'. Listened to Leap Frog 'C'.
