Today we did a fun school-wide survey, asking everyone's favorite ice cream flavor. Arianna tallied their remarks and then used them to make a graph depicting the results. Chocolate was the most favorite flavor of the students at The Batt School. Next we played "store" in her room using pretend money. She loved this game!
Today Gracyn and I skyped from St. Louis. We reviewed her new spelling words and she wrote them once. Next we did her daily morning work. For writing, I allowed her to write freely. She wrote about her mom and then drew a picture of her mom. In Bible we read Proverbs 3:3. She found a cute little Bible journal to write down her daily prayers . In science we brainstormed about things that we see in the spring. Gracyn drew pictures that represented spring including flowers, green grass, butterflies, and baseball! She then wrote two good solid sentences about spring. In reading, she selected two stories on Raz Kids to read aloud. One story was challenging, level E, and the other was easy, level C. It was great seeing Gracyn this morning on Skype.
Gracyn and I had a wonderful last afternoon together. We painted and played some of our favorite games. I have enjoyed every day working with her. I am so proud of all that she has learned. I am so blessed to have been given this opportunity to work with her. Congratulations, Gracyn! (Class of 2016!)
Arianna and I continued working on graphing. Today she was able to graph objects completely on her own. She was also able to identify the least and greatest group without any guidance. I am so proud of her!
